Where are you located?
Our showroom is located at 1621 East Hennepin Ave (Suite 220) Minneapolis, MN 55414 in the Fisk Building, on the top floor across from Spruce.
Do you accept walk-ins?
At The White Room, every bride who walks through our door is important and deserves our undivided attention. This is why we ask each bride to have her own private appointment, which typically take 60-90 minutes.
We want to spend enough time getting to know you, understanding your style, and helping you create your vision for the most important day of your life. The owners, Anne and Carmen, and our team will go above and beyond to ensure an experience that will be remembered forever. We typically schedule 60 minutes per appointment, however, if you wish to have a more in-depth, intimate experience, please call us to extend your appointment time.
Walk-ins are absolutely welcome! However, please keep in mind that all of the fitting rooms may be reserved on a busy day.
What type of appointment should I make?
If it is your first time visiting The White Room, please book the "First Time!" appointment slot. This allows ample time for us to help you find your wedding dress! If coming back to try a dress on a second time, please choose "Back for More!".
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
It’s helpful to bring a strapless bra, Spanx, and shoes to your appointment. You want to envision yourself on your wedding day, so these items play a key role! But do not worry if you are without these items during your appointment. The White Room provides samples of the above items to ensure a better fitting.
How many people should I bring to my appointment?
We believe that your fitting should be as intimate as possible. We want the focus to stay on you and what style and feeling you want to emulate on your wedding day. Sometimes, too many opinions end up overwhelming the bride’s decision, and we want your experience to be as intimate and stress-free as possible. We recommend a crew of 4 or less - friends and family members whose opinions you value most. If you wish to bring more than 4 people along with you, please call or e-mail us so we can accommodate the crew in our showroom.
When should i start shopping for my dress?
We recommend that you begin shopping for your dress at least 8-12 months before your wedding, as it can take up to 6 months for your gown to arrive. We also suggest a timeline of 8-12 weeks for alterations leading up to your wedding date. Some designers will accommodate tight deadlines, but it’s always best to play it safe.
What price range do you carry?
Most of our gowns in the showroom range in price from $2000-5000, with some above and below this range. Throughout the year and especially during sample sales, we discount our floor samples between 40-75% off their original price. Be sure to contact us for details if you would like more information on specific prices or samples.
What sizes of samples do you carry?
Most of our floor samples available for fittings are bridal size 8-14, or about 6-12 "street size". We have many techniques and tricks for making the gowns fit you as close to your size as possible! Once you’ve found THE gown, we will take your measurements and order your dress as close to your current size as possible. Most of The White Room’s designers make their dresses in standard sizing with a standard size chart, however, some designers will design and build your dress based on your measurements.
What is the process for alterations?
We have in-house alterations available, a huge benefit when purchasing a gown at TWR! We know the dresses intimately and what changes are able to be made seamlessly. We recommend a minimum of two additional fittings after receiving your dress, including an appointment 2 weeks before your wedding day. Depending on the complexity of the changes needed, expect the alterations to range from $250-$750. Major changes to the gown typically will cost $750+.
What about trunk shows?
The White Room carries a curated selection of dresses from each of their designers' collection. During a trunk show, one of our exclusive designers (or a new designer!) will bring in dresses not yet available to the public as well as some of their current collection. If you know you love a specific designer, a trunk show is a perfect time to book your appointment! Make sure to do so in advance.
What methods of payment do you accept?
Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted.
